Top Furniture Painting related questions

If your furniture's finish is already damaged or chipped, then you'll definitely need to sand it before anything else since skipping this step might cause your new paint job to peel away easily. You'll also need to smoothen any rough spots because your furniture's paint might look bumpy and even once you paint over it. Lastly, make sure to wipe your pieces clean to remove any excess dirt and debris brought by the sanding process.

Shades of white and off-white are known for their versatility, which is why they're usually the go-to furniture colours of most homeowners. They're also neutral in tone, so you can easily create custom hues by mixing white with other colours. The shade of your choice depends on your preference alone, though! Don't hesitate to ask your painter for tips on how to incorporate your favourite colour in your furniture and home interiors.

No. When you hire a painter, they can bring the necessary supplies for your furniture painting service. Latex paint, spray paint, faux finish, brushes, and rollers are just some of the tools they'll need to achieve the look you want. If you happen to have any of these on-hand, then you can also lend them to your painter. Just make sure to make the arrangements with them beforehand.

It depends on the style you prefer. Furniture spray painters near you only need around 2-3 hours to complete the painting job, but it's best to leave your items to dry for 24 hours for best results. Brush painting takes longer since you also need to wait a day before the primer, each coat of paint, and finish to dry. Faux painting can take a few hours of your day as well, depending on the technique that your painter will use.

Technically, you can, especially if you love doing DIY home improvements. However, if you have little to no experience painting furniture, you might have a hard time with the task. Amateur painting jobs can make your furniture look tacky, patchy, and uneven. Also, without using the right primer or sealant, you risk chipping and peeling your pieces as well. For good measure, you can hire a professional furniture painter to save time, energy, and valuable resources.

If the paint job is done by a professional, your furniture doesn't usually need refinishing every so often. It typically takes several years for a good furniture paint to last. But furniture care doesn't only include paying attention to its colour and finish–it also involves having them cleaned and maintained regularly.

What do Furniture painting services include?

Furniture painters can help you achieve the look that you want–from traditional to contemporary–using your preferred paint colour and appropriate painting techniques.

It's wise to assemble all your furniture pieces first for a more smooth-sailing furniture painting service. In case something needs repairing, you can also get someone to help fix your furniture to ensure that everything's good to go prior to painting your items. If you're looking for reliable furniture painting near you, here's what we can help you with:

Spray paint furniture service

Furniture spray painting services near you provide a lovely satin finish to your pieces without taking too much of your time. You can use it for various surfaces and materials like wood, wicker, metal, and plastic, as well as doors, chairs, side tables, and any furniture with small accents and tricky nooks and crannies. It's best to spray paint furniture outdoors or in a well-ventilated area to manage the paint fumes better and lessen the curing time as well.

Furniture spray painters near you can clean and sand it first, and also apply a coat of primer to make the paint last longer. Then, they can proceed with spray painting your furniture in your preferred shade and finish. If you want a fuller and more pigmented colour, your painter may need to wait for a few hours for the first application to dry before doing a second coat. Make sure to let the paint cure overnight before moving or using your furniture to avoid paint chips and cracks.

Furniture brush painting

If you're aiming for a more classic or traditional look for your furniture, brush or hand painting is a great option. This painting technique works best on wood furniture as it allows the unique grain pattern of the material to come through the paint. You can choose from all sorts of furniture paint, including latex, chalk, acrylic, milk, and oil-based paint.

Brush painting assures better adhesion, so applying 2-3 coats is ideal for uniform coverage. If you want to take your interiors up a notch, you can even hire a professional interior designer to help you come up with fabulous ideas for a vintage-themed space!

Furniture faux painting

Also known as faux finishing, faux painting adds texture and dimension to your home and furniture. This particular technique involves decorating your pieces by replicating the look of an entirely different material, like fabric, wood, suede, or granite. Some of the most popular faux painted furniture items are dining tables and kitchen cabinets, so if you're planning a major kitchen makeover, this can be your best bet!

Faux painting is also ideal for larger custom-made furniture like cabinets, wardrobes, bathroom vanities, and bookcases. The design possibilities are endless, so feel free to be as creative as you want and let your painter know about the finish you want to achieve!
