Swinging gates

I have an electrical gate. The gate opens with a remote control and, once open, starts closing automatically after 10 seconds. After it starts closing, the gate stops (and reopens again) if it detects something (a person, a car) approaching it from my driveway. This safety mechanism is no longer working, so the gate keeps closing its two halves even if a car is stationary between them. I need this safety feature to work again.

I need a new Cuggl wooden Stair gate to be fitted to the top of the stairs. On the right hand side, there's a wall to fit it to, but on the left there's only a banister.
