What does a housekeeping service include?
Housekeeping services can include one-off services or regular domestic tasks (daily, weekly, or fortnightly), from cleaning and cooking to even home maintenance. Your housekeeper will bring along all the products and equipment they need to clean and maintain your home - all you need to do is tell them what you need done. Here’s how they can help:
Â
Cleaning
The most common housekeeping service involves cleaning. This could include general cleaning, like vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and bathroom cleaning. Or it might include detail cleaning tasks like couch, curtain, floor, fridge, and . Depending on the number of tasks you’d like your housekeeper to complete, they may clean for just an hour, or up to the entire day. Your housekeeper will discuss a time that’s convenient for you, the tasks you need done, and the timeframe it should take to complete these tasks. If needed, they can bring their own cleaning supplies, like a vacuum cleaner and feather duster.Â
Organising and tidying
Many housekeepers offer professional organising services, where they help organise and tidy all areas of your home. This includes desks, filing cabinets, stationery, linen, wardrobes, toys, kitchen cupboards, garage interiors, and more. They’ll pull out all the items, organise them by category, and help you choose what you should keep, donate, or bin. They’ll also help by recommending suitable storage solutions to help you keep your home tidy for longer.
Â
Cooking
Some housekeepers are available to help with cooking in your home. They might prepare a few snacks, or help prep several meals ahead of time so you don’t have to worry about cooking. Your housekeeper will present menu and recipe options for you to choose from and use your ingredient and kitchen supplies to cook everything in your kitchen. Once they’re done, they’ll store the freshly cooked food (with heating instructions) and clean up any mess.
Laundry
Washing and ironing starting to pile up? Housekeepers can help by putting on loads of washing, hanging clothes, loading the dryer, folding washing, ironing, and even putting it away. They’ll check the care labels to ensure appropriate washing/drying methods are used before they start the process. With some extra help, you’ll be all caught up on the laundry in no time.
Home maintenance
Many housekeepers are skilled in basic household maintenance tasks. But if they’re unable to do the job themselves, they’ll help organise and oversee skilled contractors who can help do repairs and maintenance in and around your home.Â
