Top Interior Painting related questions

In the United Kingdom, factors like the Tasker’s labour fee, your location, house type, paint type, room size, and customisation requests influence the cost. The usual range is £150 to £600 for bathrooms, £170 to £350 for kitchens, £200 to £800 for bedrooms, £500 to £1,000 for dining rooms, and £600 to £2,000 for living rooms.

The frequency depends on your preference. In general, interior walls and surfaces should be repainted every three to five years, as this is when normal wear and tear usually start. However, you have the liberty to repaint your walls and surfaces much sooner if your goal is to remodel or switch up your home’s design.

Yes! If you already have chosen paints available and need someone to apply to your walls and other surfaces, then that’s no problem. Just make sure to give your Tasker a heads up about this, so they’ll only bring the necessary tools and supplies. The work can start as soon as they arrive at your place.

The process of picking a paint colour starts with lighting. A dim room can appear bigger, brighter, and more spacious when painted with a light colour. Meanwhile, larger spaces can feel more comfortable and intimate using a darker shade of paint. Don’t forget that selecting the right paint colours also involves your style as well as the mood or ambience you want to evoke in your home.

More expensive paint is of higher quality than budget-friendly alternatives. It means they have more even coverage and require fewer coats when applied. While some would prefer to cut costs and go for cheaper paint, this can result in a colour that’s less intense or a bit further from the exact tone on the paint switch. It’s best to invest in high-quality as they genuinely make the difference between a new stylish room and poorly repainted one.

It all boils down to the scope of work to be completed. If the painting assignment involves only a few walls or one room, it might only take a few hours. However, if you need to paint multiple rooms or your entire house, then expect the painting job to finish within a day or more.

Generally, it’s best to wait at least two weeks after the painting work before washing your walls. It gives enough time to cure and helps you achieve the best results without the risk of colour transfer or fading. When washing newly painted walls, make sure to use a soft cloth with mild soap and apply with gentle pressure.

What do interior painting services include?

Bringing life back to your home sounds like a tall order, but it usually starts with having your interiors painted. Luckily, you can book a Tasker—may it be for making your dining room paint more vibrant or applying a neutral feel to your basement paint.

Here are options you can explore:

Living room painting

A living room is meant to exude warmth. This space witnesses spontaneous reunions and chill celebrations, so keeping it homey is a must. It often begins with the choice of colours.

Instead of figuring it out yourself, your hired Tasker can help you pick colours that showcase your style and match your furniture. With a reliable specialist, you can go straight to lounging with your loved ones.

Kitchen painting

The kitchen is sometimes dubbed a battle zone, so its visuals might come as an afterthought. But tweaking it, especially through painting, can offer long term effects.

If unpleasant odour, stains, and grease have been bothersome—and cleaning and scrubbing won’t cut it—a fresh coat of paint might take away these elements, bringing your kitchen back to its well-maintained state.

Trust a Tasker to get you through the process, from moving your appliances to doing the necessary preparations pre-painting. If you’re unsatisfied with this tweak, you can also hire someone to transform your kitchen.

Hallway and stairway painting

No one technically stays in these areas, but that doesn’t mean they’re any less purposeful than the actual rooms. Keeping them well taken care of is a necessity, especially as they help people with movement. To freshen up hallways and stairways, you can book a specialist on Airtasker.

Whether you want your walls to be bathed in classic neutrals (especially for minimalist spaces) or more emotionally-charged hues, the interior painter can help you choose a scheme that will match with your taste. Painting can also help in removing stains, marks, and other wear and tear.

Dining room painting

The satisfaction in gobbling up a meal heightens when you’re in a comfortable place. Imagine eating lunch in a ghost town-like room?

Good thing is you can change your dining room paint colours easily by booking someone skilled on Airtasker. Thinking of making the space more sophisticated? How about adjusting it according to your desired lighting? With the right palette, you can boost your next family dinner experience, that overstaying won’t be in the vocabulary.

Basement painting

Basements are often reduced as extra spaces. However, you can amplify its function and mood depending on the colours. A secret home cinema can be created with a dark red basement floor paint, or you can have an underground library using earthy shades. If you want it more flexible and clear, though, white and grey are usual go-tos. It’s best to ask your Tasker for basement paint recommendations.

Painting house interiors (+ some re-plastering)

£1,500

Leytonstone, Greater London, E11

8th Oct 2024

Hello (reposting this task as I now have a starting date), we recently replaced our carpet with wooden flooring and we had to replace the skirt-boards too. The house (hallways + stairs + landing + living room + bedroom + office and their ceilings) now needs to be repainted (and some areas of the walls need fixing the missing plaster/ drywall). The walls won’t need a primer but just 2 coats of paint. The furniture needs to be moved (in the center of the rooms or from one room to another). The skirting boards + stairs/handrails and some of the doors (3-4) needs to be painted too. The rooms are this size: - hallways + stairs + landing: 16 sq mt - living room: 21 sq mt - bedroom: 11 sq mt - office: 7 sq mt Thank you

Matthew did a wonderful job in our flat. He has a great eye for detail, ensuring every aspect of the job was completed to a high standard. His communication was excellent throughout the project. He worked efficiently without cutting corners, and his honest, professional approach was much appreciated. Highly recommend Matthew for anyone looking for quality workmanship and reliability.
