What does a painting service include?
Usually, painting services will include the full process from setup and preparation to painting and final clean up. Some common painting services include:
House painting
House painting services involve a range of tasks to transform both the interiors and exteriors of your home. Expert house painters can walk you through the entire painting process–from colour consultation and surface preparation to paint application.
- Interior painting - Painting your interior walls will give your space a fresh new look, help reduce cooking smells, control mould, and remove fingerprints and marks. A professional painter with a Certificate IV license will choose paints to suit the style and function of your kitchen, bedroom, ceiling, or bathroom. Preparation starts with removing or covering furniture and putting down drop sheets, along with washing any wall surfaces. Your painter will repair any surface holes then sand rough areas and prime if needed. To paint walls and ceilings, your painter will start by cutting in with a small brush, before covering the remaining surfaces with a roller brush. They may apply 2-3 coats to create a smooth, even surface. Finally, your painter will clean up by washing out the brushes and rollers, folding up drop any cloths, and removing the tape from windows and outlets.
- Exterior painting - It’s important to maintain paintwork for your home’s exterior, not only for your home’s value and first impressions but because it’s constantly exposed to the elements. You’ll need to repaint weatherboards every few years, plus fences, gutters, window-sills, and doorways every 5-10 years to maintain a fresh look. When you hire an exterior painter, they’ll usually sand back and prep the area, taking off any cracked or peeling paint, and then prime and paint the surfaces. They’ll choose a paint designed for your climate and structure to ensure it lasts. Once they’re finished, your painter will inspect for any missed spots and check the edges are all neat.
Graffiti and murals
Your business, nursery, or feature wall will stand out from the crowd with a graffiti mural, or larger-than-life artwork. If you have a design ready to go, your painter can enlarge this onto your walls, or design a custom piece for your home or office with the help of a painting software.Â
Your painter will prepare the surface by cleaning it carefully, putting down drop sheets, and painting a base colour if needed. Then they’ll get to work on your artwork, using a ladder to reach each part of the painting. They’ll likely reference an existing drawing or photo throughout the process to ensure they have every detail right. Once they’re finished, they’ll pack up their equipment, wash out any brushes used, and remove the drop sheet. Some artwork may be finished in just a few hours, while larger, highly detailed pieces may take weeks.
Paint stripping
Many painters are experienced in paint removal, too. Since paint stripping is generally a messy and time-consuming job, it’s a good idea to outsource it to a professional. Some common reasons for paint stripping include new colour for your interior doors, removing wood stain from kitchen cabinets so you can update the colour, or stripping cracked paint from a surface so it’s ready for repainting.Â

Hello! We are moving out of our flat and need someone to come and patch holes from nails, and spot-clean/paint the white walls where scuff marks etc have been made. There are also a few spots where the white plaster has sort of chipped off the corner of a wall. It's a one bedroom, one bathroom flat and it's a new build. We've lived here since 2019 so there is a degree of expected wear and tear, but we want to spiff the place up a bit to give ourselves the best chance of getting our deposit back, and we hung a projector, paintings, etc so the plaster and paint need some touching up in a few places. The whole flat is a true white, matte, lightly rough paint with smooth/shiny white trim. Happy to send/upload photos if needed. The timing is also quite specific, it will need to be on April 3rd, although it can be anytime that day (you may just have to work around some movers if you're there at the same time). I have a small hallway that needs wallpaper taking off from the walls and ceiling
This was my first experience of this app and Marco and Angela have really set the bar high! Respectful, kind and delivered amazingly! I would definitely recommend and work with both again. The wallpaper was stripped back all the way to walls and I was even made aware of any issues I would have in the future whilst decorating and even got suggestions for storage with the walls I have. I even got help with cleaning after. Phenomenal service

I need my hallway wallpapered. Paper is not patterned so will not require matching. It is preferable that you live locally as i live in the congestion zone and want to avoid incurring this extra cost. I would like this job done in 1 day. I already have paste.
First thing I will say is that Nima is a very hard worker! He wallpapered my hallway and went the extra mile where he need not have by fixing some imperfections on the wall. He made sure everything was to my liking before leaving... And it was.. I would readily employ him again. Thank you Nima!!

Quote is not an approved amount with our landlord I just have no idea what the cost will be to repair this. Can you make an estimate on hours to complete these tasks. The landlord will have the final say. Repairing, repainting walls in our home. Our landlord doesn't think it's caused by DAMP but has asked us to find a decorator to help. One of the walls had major erosion last year, we had to replaster and sand the wall, damp paint and then repainted the wall. And the erosion is back, the wall is bubbling. I assume from Damp. We had our whole house painted 3 years ago and many of the areas we have here were issues within 6 months of the painting, and it's gotten really bad. Our landlord will likely want a good price but if you also think this is DAMP, I can let him know that with your quote. This is a 4-bed house, the problem areas are in the dining room, the kitchen, one bedroom on the first floor near the back of the house, the bathrooms, the staircase to the attic room and the attic room. - Due date: Flexible
