Plasterboard disposal services include all the tasks needed to ensure that this demolition waste material is prepared (following state regulations before taking it to a recycling facility).

In that case, disposal specialists take all the dismantled plasterboard walls and ceilings lying about, sort them out, separate them from other waste material and place them in specially-designed bags. They then prepare the bagged plasterboard for shipping to the appropriate recycling facility. 

Collecting the plasterboard

After the demolition at your construction or renovation site is finished, plasterboard disposal specialists can collect all the plasterboard at the site and pile it into one heap. They can place the collected plasterboard in a dedicated skip or dumpster that has a lid. This step is done to keep moisture or rainwater away from the plasterboard.

Ideally, disposal specialists can temporarily place the material in a lockable dumpster to prevent contamination by other waste material at the site. They will take the dismantled plasterboard away from your construction activities for sorting.

Separating and segregating the plasterboard

Once all the plasterboard is collected, disposal specialists inspect the plasterboard and separate them from any other materials they may still be attached to, such as bits of timber, concrete, masonry, wire mesh or brick. Some disposal specialists can offer to dispose of these other materials, but this can cost extra. You may hire separate clearance services to sort and dispose of the different materials apart from plasterboard, such as rubble brick disposal.

Bagging the plasterboard

After all the plasterboard is collected and separated from other construction waste materials, they’re placed in individual bags. The bags are sealed, and disposal specialists make sure that these aren’t mixed with any other demolition or construction waste due for disposal. They can also ensure that the bagged plasterboard is stored in a safe, dry place while awaiting transit.

Plasterboard recycling facility

Your plasterboard disposal specialists can then take all the bags containing the sorted and segregated plasterboard and place them on trucks. These trucks proceed to take them to a recycling facility. If you didn’t hire a separate transport service for these recyclables, some disposal specialists may also supply the trucks and perform the transport to an appropriate recycling facility.
