We have three uPVC windows that aren’t closing properly. One just doesn’t close fully, and I can’t work out what’s jamming it. The other has a latch that seems to have come loose? On the third, the handle on one has broken, so we’ve taken it out. I ordered new handles but the spindle was too long - it almost looks like someone DIY’ed a shorter one to fit previously? I would like to find someone who can advise me about which handle to order, then once it arrives can come and put the new handle in and fix the other window latches/hinges. It is possible the previous owner did a little DIY work on the handle. Thinking it should be pretty simple for anyone who knows what they are doing, but I am happy to discuss the quote in more detail later, if it is more complicated than expected.

I have a room with a window facing the road. I need to do some caulking of the window in order to reduce the sound that is coming inside the room. Any other techniques to reduce sound is also interesting.

I’m looking for a carpenter who can also perform various tasks. That person will need to be there on the day we move out to remove a sash window for our sofa to be taken out of the flat through the window. The sash window will then need to be re-attached neatly. There will also be other jobs to be done on the day: -Re-attach a door handle. -Remove all curtains from the curtain rails and possibly reattach the curtain rails more firmly as they are coming a bit loose. The ceiling is quite high and our step ladder is a bit wonky so if you have a step ladder you can bring it would be better. -Fix a few holes & scratched paint on one wall in particular. The person will need to be able to work around the movers so they might have to come in early and stay for a little while.

I have a window that is having difficulty in closing. In order to close it I have to kind of lift it up and in, while I pull it shut. I think it might need a hinge replacement. As a result there is a small gap on the side where the hinge is when closed, which means there is a small draught.

Top half of one sash drops slightly so window can't be locked

I would like to move my top window Operator Chain Opener to the side wall. Currently positioned inside the window frame and my blinds constantly get caught on it, which is what I'm trying to avoid. The operator chain opener is for the top windows which are around 4-5 metres high. The wires run down from the top windows down to the bottom. Please see photo. I've marked in red where I would like the operator to be moved to. Thanks.

I have bought 2 bronze barrel-style window stops to replace old ones, which now need screwing into a sash window frame. It should be straightforward. You can see from the photos we had to remove old ones because we lost the key so the new holes will go under the circles you see in the photos. It should involve drilling 2 holes and screwing the barrels into the frame so that the stopper can prevent the window from opening past a certain point. I’ve also included a photo of another window to show you what it will look like when complete. Thanks

We need a handyman to just put a few things right for our end of tenancy: - Take down 2xblackout blinds and rehang the old ones - Touchup the paint from the blackout blinds. - Quick touch up of paint on some skirting’s and one door from cat scratching it (may need a quick sand/buff but we have all paint just need paintbrush etc) - Rehang TV on wall (I can assist with lifting it) This is just so we get our deposit back we don’t need a fancy job here just a quick touch up. Job can be done within the next 2 weeks.
