I have an ottoman with a blue velvet cover. I dont like blue. I would like it to be covered in a faux black leather, so its black textured and slightly water resistant. I have not purchased the fabric as I don't know exactly how much is needed, a zip would also be required. Otherwise it's essentially a large foam cube.

I am wondering if it is possible to alter the zip to remove the part at the top which has broken but keep the remainder of the zip intact.

I just bought a pair of pants that fit everywhere except the waist is too small and is restricting when buttoned up so would like the waistband to be let out. Hello, Me and my friend are looking to get two pairs of business trouser pants altered. We want to alter them to be worn as shorts. If possible, we’d like to be able to wear them as pants, but make the pant legs detachable so they turn into shorts either through the use of a zip or buttons or some other technique.
