I had an Airtasker auto electrician incorrectly install a momentary on off switch on my 2022 Toyota RAV4. Ideally the spotlights should be connected to the high beam lever on the steering column. Failing that, if you can't connect the spotlights to the high beam lever on the steering column, can you replace the small red momentary on/off switch with a latching on/off switch. The wiring in the high beam lever is apparently only 3 amps so the 12 volts may melt the wiring if not wired correctly. This will enable me to drive with two hands on the steering wheel instead of one hand. If you can't come out to Bondi, I can try to drive to your place if you live in the eastern suburbs or within a short drive of Bondi. Currently the only way I can keep the car spotlights on whilst keeping two hands on the steering wheel instead of one hand on the steering column is with thick rubber bands around the steering column. Car battery was let go dead from lights being left on all night. Brand new battery installed, car still doesn’t start, we think it is to do with the security system \ immobiliser not allowing the engine to start as there is now a red light showing on dash and we looked up in manual and it says that’s what it is. Model of the car is Jeep Cherokee 2012. Any help/advice much appreciated to get this sorted. Price negotiable depending on level of help received

2013 Holden Captiva 7 (Auto, petrol). I brought my car to a local mechanic after hearing a weird "clapping" sound coming from the front of the car/engine. He told me the engine is completely wasted (or about to at least), something with the pistons firing/breaking (unsure exactly, my knowledge is limited). He said there's no point in trying to repair or replace the engine for this car. And that I shouldn't drive it anymore as it can break any minute, leave a huge oil spill and even be dangerous with the pistons shooting out (at the passenger). I'm hoping to get a second opinion/inspection on whether this is correct. If repairing or replacing the engine I'm also open to exploring that as I do love the car and it actually only has 120K km. Let me know if you need any additional info. Unsure about what the budget needs to be, and of course, if we move to repair I understand it will be more expansive than just getting an inspection.
