I need macbook repairs

$80

I would give Vidhin 10 stars if it was possible and here is why: I posted a task for my 2011 MacBook whose USB ports stopped working. Vidhin first told me that he would inspect the MacBook and tell me if it is repairable or not. He told me some old computers would cost more than buying a secondhand laptop.. After I got the thumbs up, he started the repair. At every stage of the repair process Vidhin sent me photos of inside of the computer, he was always in touch with me all the time which was very comforting because I know absolutely nothing about the tech side of things. Once the USB was repaired I also asked him whether if it was possible to change the hard disk to SSD, he did it, and he advised me to think of a keyboard swap as it was old and, he fixed that too. So overall I can't be more happier than this. Task done with great precision and expertise. I would definitely recommend him and work with him in future tasks.

What does a computer repair service include?

Computers are complicated devices, so there’s quite a lot that can go wrong with them. The exact process and what you can expect from your computer repair technician will depend on your problem and the fixes they recommend. Here are some common types of computer repair services and inclusions:

General troubleshooting and support

When you don’t have the time, knowledge, or patience to work out what’s wrong with your device, it makes sense to hire a computer repair service near you. Computer troubleshooting and technical support are usually the first step to fixing any problems you’re having. Your technician will ask a few questions over the phone or on your task to assess the complexity of your issue. Then they’ll visit your home or office or provide virtual support to confirm the issue and recommend a suitable solution.

Upgrades and setup

A large number of computer problems are caused by outdated software. When your operating system updates, sometimes it can cause compatibility issues if your other programs don’t update at the same time. Fortunately, this is often an easy fix for an experienced computer technician. They’ll run a check to make sure your software and drivers are up to date, then they’ll download and install any software, computer upgrades, or even a new Windows installation if needed. With up-to-date programs and operating systems, everything should be compatible, run smoothly, and minimise your vulnerability to security threats.

Hardware repairs

Eventually, most computers end up with some kind of hardware failure, whether it’s the graphics driver, a dead battery, or even just a few keys coming loose on your laptop. Arrange computer repair near you to make it easy to drop your computer in, or get a mobile repair technician to your home. A computer hardware specialist will diagnose issues like why your computer isn’t turning on, video display issues, and battery problems. They may run software tests or open up your laptop or computer case to take a look inside. They might also swap spare hardware parts with your existing parts to confirm which parts are causing your problem. Most technicians will be able to diagnose your problem within a few minutes, but it may take a few days or weeks to repair, depending on the complexity or your hardware repair, and whether or not the parts are available locally.

Antivirus and backup

As part of your repair services, your technician may set up antivirus and repair software, especially if they need to restore your files or get rid of malware on your computer. They’ll help backup computer files with cloud software like Dropbox, Google Drive, and OneDrive, or use an external hard drive. And they’ll likely run virus removal software to check for threats and protect your computer against future viruses. Be prepared to purchase extra software or hardware to sort out your antivirus protection and backups. These are important to minimise the risk of future problems and protect your important files, photos, work, and personal details.

Fix laptop microphone & keyboard

$13

Melbourne VIC, Australia

10th Dec 2024

My laptop’s keyboard is acting strangely. I used to switch between languages using the Shift key, but that no longer works. Several keys have changed—for instance, “?” has turned into “/”—and Shift no longer capitalises letters. As I type frequently, this is very frustrating Also, the laptop’s internal microphone isn’t working. It works with an external microphone, but not in call software. I’ve tried the usual troubleshooting steps, but no luck. Can anyone help? Thank yiu very much.

Assistance with Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra- recovering data and repair

$30

Armadale VIC, Australia

3rd Dec 2024

A week ago, my phone suddenly turned off and then started what I believe is a "boot loop" and cannot actually start up. I have taken my phone to a Samsumg accredited repair shop. They say it is irreparable. They believe the memory became full and due to not removing data, it then crashed. I am mostly concerned about recovering the data and of course starting up my phone. I do not wish to factory reset or get it repaired when it means losing all the data, some of which is very important to me. I have been in contact with data recovery specialiats who claim they can recover the data but cannot guarantee any fixing of the phone in the process. I would like someone who is very experienced in phone repairs and data recovery, hopefully with such situations. I am starting quite low due to the possibility that the phone will not be able to be fixed or data recovered. I am open to any offers, and if successful and my initial offer is accepted then I am more than happy to readily provide a very generous tip in your presence. Libby

Shane is a lovely guy. I truly appreciated his time and hard work. My problem was very niche and Shane did a lot of research to assist me with my phone. Communication was great and he explained things to me as we went on as my knowledge is very limited regarding tech. I would recommend Shane to other users!

Fix Internet - Possible replace router

$180

St Kilda VIC, Australia

10th Jul 2024

Internet is down. Either faulty NBN device. Or Router has died. Or possible (but unlikely) cable issue. Step 1: Plug in a laptop directly into NBN device to make sure internet working. Possibly NBN device needs to be reset. Step 2: Check and see if router (TP-Link) is working okay. There is a slight chance it needs to be replaced. There should be a replacement router at location, but if you have a spare one in case, that would be helpful.

Justin went above and beyond in helping fix my internet. He did all this while I was overseas. He understood exactly how to fix it in a speedy way.
