Remove "wall friendly" stickytape from ceiling

We have a couple pieces of "wall friendly" stickytape on the ceiling, but we need someone with experience to help us remove it. The problem: the sticky tape doesn't come off in one piece, but rather in very small sections and we're not sure which method/chemicals would help without damaging the ceiling (very important, as it is a rental! Full trust is in your abilities!) We have an inspection on the 4th and would like it done before. Flexible times available during the long weekend and the other days would be during the evening. I have a ladder available for you, if needed Thanks in advance! PS: it would be favourable if you have experience with this and/or pictures of your work
