In the recent rain, a corner of one room in our house has started to become wet/develop a small puddle. It has only happened twice (not all the time.) It looks like the water is seeping in under the skirting board or through a tiny gap in the grout/caulking. The room is tiled and has a plastered brick wall with a timber skirting board. I have a feeling that the problem requires some patching with grout or caulking but I’m not certain. It is behind a gas heater, which makes access a bit tricky but not impossible. We would be so grateful if someone could identify and fix the problem!

I have three oak floating shelves, which I am hoping to get mounted to a wall. I think the wall is either drywall or plasterboard - it is not masonry. One is 2100 mm and the other two are 700 mm.
