Extremely disappointing. I hired Tass to re-cable and reposition my PC internals and install a PCIe Ethernet card, with models clearly listed and compatibility confirmed by phone. Yet on arrival, he declared the components incompatible, stating “With second-hand parts, you can’t be sure.” He neither re-cabled nor repositioned as required. I ended up paying for nothing—a total waste of time and money. Unprofessional and not recommended.

I have a PC for video editing. I want to upgrade it with a new GPU (4090), CPU (14900K), mobo, case... So basically a whole new PC. I want to use the old parts (3080 Ti, Ryzen 9 5950X, case) to build a new, less powerful, gaming and media PC. And I want to build a NAS media server. (At least 20TB, for Plex and backups.) So basically that's two new PCs and a NAS server. I haven't bought the new parts yet -- I'd like expert advice to plan and choose parts, and help to physically build them. I especially need advice on which 4090 variant to get, which mobo to get, to check everything's compatible, and advice on how to set up the NAS media server. I can provide a Google doc with more detail on the parts I have and what I need. So maybe we start with a phone call to plan, then I'll buy the parts, then we can build it in-person in Richmond. Put together a PC, PC doesn't turn on. Not ideal. Can you help? I get a quick flicker in the light-up fans before a click (presumably from the PSU) and down it goes. LED built into the motherboard stays on whenever the system is plugged in and PSU is switched on, so that seems to be the one thing that is working. Case has built-in motherboard headers, RAM has been correctly seated and re-seated, have tried with and without GPU installed, no loose connections. Once the system can successfully boot up Windows 10 will need to be installed - I have the OS on a USB ready to go.
