An awning might do the trick but it needs to be 2.4m wide and 4m long, to shade my car and be within Stirling council requirements. Attached to the side of our two story house, behind the gate in the picture. I guess some kind of cantilever design? The space is bituminized and ready to go, with lots of room to do the job. I'm not sure if a 2.4 awning span is possible?

Pergola needs to be fixed. Not replaced. The pergola will not eventually stay, due to building requirements. If required, I am able to provide all wood, it just has to be picked up from a nearby place. A lot of the wood is rotting, and would need to be replaced. Some of it is good, still.
