Hi there, I am looking for a quote for some repairs in my Victorian flat in Chiswick (W4). Details of the work are as follows. Bedroom repairs: * In the corner of our bedroom (on the internal side of an external wall), the lining paper has become mouldy, and some plaster has cracked slightly. We need: * The plaster repaired. * The lining paper replaced and repainted to match the rest of the room. * In the opposite corner of the room, the lining paper is coming off due to mould. We may require the same repairs as above in this area. Window repainting: * Two external wooden windows need repainting as the paint is flaking off. Garage door replacement: * The current door leading to our garage from the courtyard has expanded due to wet weather and is difficult to close. We need: * A new, more suitable door installed. * The existing frame retained, as the garage is old and built with breeze blocks, and it isn’t worth replacing the frame. Ideally, we would like you to visit on Monday, 20th Jan to provide a quote. If this isn’t possible, Wednesday, 22nd Jan is also an option. If you’re unavailable on either of these dates, please do not quote. We have very heavy curtains in the lounge in a mansion block flat. The failing plaster needs removing, the two brackets be secured into the brick behind and the wall made good so I can sand down and paint later. Aiming to do this on Saturday October 12th . You will need to bring your own tools and materials to achieve this. Any questions please ask. There seem tio be just two brackets that are failing - one worse than the other - so these two need securing properly into the brick behind the plaster after the failing plaster removed. The rest seem OK but could be checked. I also need to swap out the dimmer mechanism in several of the light switches and replace with a dummy dimmer block (I have these) - 7 in total - if experienced with electrics and possibly re-attach one picture light. Or I can get an electrician in and get this done separately. Hoping the picture light will be repaired this weekend ready for installation on 12th.
Doug was great - fixed the problem properly (even coming on the weekend which was a huge help) and was a pleasure to deal with. Will use again. Highly recommended.
