I have bought 2 bronze barrel-style window stops to replace old ones, which now need screwing into a sash window frame. It should be straightforward. You can see from the photos we had to remove old ones because we lost the key so the new holes will go under the circles you see in the photos. It should involve drilling 2 holes and screwing the barrels into the frame so that the stopper can prevent the window from opening past a certain point. This is a Victorian flat conversion building so the windows have the old sash frame + front glazing, both of which should be able to slide up and down to open, one side has broken/got out of sync with the mechanism, so one side is stuck and one side is permanently open. Please note I can only pay the amount if the window can be fixed

The sash window cord has broken on an old Victorian window. I have replacement cord but it needs someone who is familiar with repairing these types of windows to do the actual repair

one of my sash windows doesn't close anymore when I pull it down, it gets stuck around 10cms above the close, and it's because one of the 2 ropes holding it up that normally slides up and down on the little metal ring is blocked and not moving anymore. As in, when I pull the window up the rope doesn't slide up inside the hole but just hangs in the air, and when I pull the window down it just gets stuck. There is another, less important issue with the secondary glazing of the other sash window: when I open the secondary glazing of the other window, it doesn't hold up tight but slides down, meaning it's impossible to keep it halfway open, but only opens by one third or so, as it slides down. This second issue is not really a major problem though, so even just fixing the first one would be great

Replace snapped cord on old sash windows

The bolt on a sash window in my house has broken so the window is permanently open, I have bought a new bolt to replace it but need this attaching. I also have a couple of bathroom doors that aren't closing properly due to faulty handles that it would be good to have looked at too

The bottom 1/4 of a large sash is rotten through. So it needs to be cut out and replaced. I will be able to post some pictures tomorrow. Attached is a picture of the style of sash

The bottom sash panel has rot along the bottom half of the window. If possible I would have the rot removed, a hardener put in, then filled, sanded and then putty re applied. I'd appreciate some guidance as to whether this is possible or if its worth fitting a new window - Due date: Flexible

The windows are in very good condition, the flat having been refurbished less than a year ago. Assuming it is not just reattaching the end of the strut (assuming you have the tool with you to do this), then x2 visits will be required. First to find issue & identify replacement part required. Sash window on upper floor is jammed open due to the timber swelling in the frame over winter. Usually needs a bit of brute force to unstick it after the winter but I have a wrist injury so need help!
