I need my sliding doors & doors windows wooden frames painted

Paint ceiling of alfresco. I have all the equipment and already started prepping area. Only problem is when I try to paint it, old paint seems to come off. I think it might need to be sprayed on.

Kids bedroom that is currently pink, need to repaint for my son to move in. He wants a red feature wall and the rest in a very light grey. Even happy if someone can help me with the red wall and I can do the rest if doesn’t fit into budget.
