My partner and I recently got a second-hand Breville Dual Boiler from their brother - still in pretty good condition (or so it seems!). However, after I did a weekly clean, it hasn't been the same. Basically, the steam wand takes ages to get going and once it does, it seems like there's a build-up of steam or something because even after we turn it off at the wall, it still keeps going when the lever is turned. Water also continues to leak from near the tray even after the machine has been turned off - pretty much emptying all of the water in the water compartment. We've pulled apart the machine - top and bottom and couldn't seem to find any leaks or damage. Read in a few forums that it could be the o-rings and/or a blockage in one of the pipes but all seems to be fine. At this point, we're thinking it may need a solenoid valve repair but it's hard to tell without sound knowledge of the machine. Would love to be able to find someone here who knows their way around coffee machines to fix this issue instead of getting expensive repairs or even worse buying a new machine! Willing to negotiate on price depending on the repairs needed. Can send videos of the machine in action to highlight the issues if needed.
