I need to resize a wood/chipboard (IKEA) bedhead to fit a pre-existing fitting in the room. It is a single rectangular piece of wood/chipboard, and you may need to measure the existing fitting in case it is not perfectly square. It may also be sensible to cut a separate piece of wood to support the cross-beam. We’re renovating our townhouse so we have a number of projects requiring a carpenter. One project is to replace/cap the stairs and landing flooring with new wood. A second is to strip the existing doors down to natural wood and stain them. A third is to refurbish the built-in closets in the master bedroom with new wood and build in shelving. A fourth is building a new doorway into a utility closest under the stairs. What we’re looking for is building a working relationship with a carpenter so when projects arise we had someone to bring on board. I, myself, have a fair bit of knowledge/experience, however, after relocating from the US (NY) access to equipment, and time (2 kids @ 4 and 1 yr old) is very limited.
