You will need an angle grinder, and metal drill bit (suitable to make a hole for a N8 bolt) to help me with this task. I'm trying to fix the window actuator in my (15 year old car) car. Two plastic clips perished and to get a replacement you had to buy the whole new actuator - which is a 10 week wait and costs about 1/4 the value of the car. I've got a solution to bodge it together - but I don't have the tools I need and I don't want to buy them for a 1 off job. What needs to happen: 1. Remove the knobby bit (which is the black bit in the pictures and is held on by a rivet which I've unsuccessfully tried to remove with a pair of pliers) 2. Resize the hole left by the newly removed rivet, so a N8 bolt can go through it 3. Angle grind the end of the N8 bolt off after it has been threaded through the newly sized hole. The bolt in the pictures is the N8 bolt I need threaded through to connect the arm to the guide track. If you have a workbench in your garage I can come to you (assuming that you aren't too far away from the Haberfield/Ashfield area). You don't have to touch my car or reinstall it etc - I just need someone with the tools to be able to remove the rivet and get the bolt through to reconnect the two.
